IIGM Recruitment 2024 – 30 JRF Posts

The Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG / IIGM) has issued a recruitment notification for 30 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions under Advertisement No. 02/IIG/HRD/2024/ररसचग स्कॉलर / Research Scholars. Eligible Indian citizens who have completed their minimum Post Graduates (M.Sc./M.Tech) are invited to apply online. The number of vacancies is subject to change. The deadline for submitting online applications is April 15, 2024.

Selected candidates will conduct their research either at the IIG Headquarters in Navi Mumbai or at one of the regional centers: EGRL in Tirunelveli, KSKGRL in Prayagraj, NEGRL in Shillong, or a magnetic observatory.

Regarding age limit, applicants must be under 27 years old as of July 1, 2024.

The duration of the tenure and the fellowship/stipend for the Research Scholar in the capacity of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will follow the guidelines set by the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG).

Eligibility criteria for IIGM JRF:
1. Candidates should hold an M.Sc./M.Sc.(Tech.) degree in disciplines such as Physics, Geophysics, Space Physics, Atmospheric Science, Applied Geology, Applied Mathematics, Applied Geophysics, Marine Geophysics, or related fields with at least 60% or equivalent CGPA marks in their M.Sc./ M.Sc.(Tech.) program. Additionally, B.Sc. should include Physics or Mathematics as a subject.
2. Candidates in the final year of their Master’s degree in the current year, with results expected before August 2024, are also eligible to apply.
3. There is a relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent grade for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwBD/Economically Weaker Section (EWS), as per the UGC notification, provided they present a valid certificate issued by the competent authority.

To apply for IIGM Recruitment 2024, interested and eligible candidates must apply online through the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism Recruitment Portal (iigm.formsubmit.in) starting from February 2024. Applicants must fill in all required details, upload scanned copies of their Photograph and Signature in PDF format, and submit the online application. Additionally, they need to send a hard copy of the online application along with attachments to the Registrar, Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Mumbai Headquarters (Panvel Campus), Plot 5, Sector 18, Near Kalamboli Highway, New Panvel, Navi Mumbai, 410218 India.

The deadline for online application submission is April 15, 2024.
